Kid’s FAQ
What is the best way for me to keep my child’s hair healthy and manageable?
Shampoo and condition hair weekly or bi-weekly and keep hair soft with moisturizers. Avoid pulling hair too tight when styling (i.e. braids, rubber bands, etc.). Dark and Lovely Kids™ Beautiful Beginnings® and Baby Love® hair care products are formulated especially for kids. Try Dark and Lovely Kids Beautiful Beginnings 2 in 1 Shampoo + Conditioner, Ouchless Detangler, Softening Oil Moisturizer, Braid Maintainer + Refresher, Scalp Conditioner + Soother and Edge Tamer + Protector.
For your baby, try Baby Love Moisturizing Hairdress Lotion, Moisturizing Crème Hairdress, and Baby Love Conditioning Detangler Spray.

I normally keep my daughter’s hair in braids. Lately, I’ve noticed that her edges are breaking and becoming thin. I’m very concerned and want to know how I can stop the breakage and get her hair to grow back.
|
Beware of edges braided too tightly. The outer edge of the hairline is a very fragile area. Your first line of defense is to stop braiding so tight. Then to keep unruly edges controlled, use Dark and Lovely Kids™ Beautiful Beginnings® Edge Tamer + Protector. This emollient gel product lays down flyaway hair and improves hairline fullness.

Shampooing my daughter’s hair is such a chore, and it gets worse when it’s time to comb her wet hair. It gets so tangled and I seem to have so much hair in the comb. Help!
You’re not alone; many Mothers experience this same scenario. Here’s a solution:
- Shampoo your daughter’s hair with Dark and Lovely Kids™ Beautiful Beginnings® 2-n-1 shampoo + Conditioner. This product is amazing, it will cleanse, detangle and condition in one step.
- Next, use Dark and Lovely Kids Beautiful Beginnings Ouchless Detangler. Spray a generous amount of the Ouchless Detangler throughout her hair and divide hair into controllable sections. Begin at the ends, combing and detangling hair from ends to scalp area, this will allow you to easily remove tangles and greatly reduce the amount of hair that can be pulled from the head through combing.

My daughter loves to swim but the chlorine is just too rough on her hair. Is there anything I can do?
|
Always apply a conditioner to the hair (wet or dry) to protect the cuticle from the damaging effects chlorine then cover with a swim cap. Rinse the conditioner out after the swim session and follow-up with Dark and Lovely Kids™ Beautiful Beginnings® Oil Moisturizer to keep hair soft and manageable.
